A few months ago I got a broken Mazda 6 from a friend. I fixed it, drove it, and it broke again a few weeks ago.
The DPF light kept flashing even after taking the exhaust appart, cleaning the DPF and checking all the sensors, so I put it up for sale (stating the problem of course) yesterday, sold it this morning, and bought a MX-5 as a reliable daily this afternoon. Life is good

Is this where we starting shouting? ONE OF US. ONE OF US. ONE OF US.
Haha enjoy, Miatas are great daily cars! I have never been a super fan of the NC but it’s still a Miata in there so I am sure it is a blast to drive either way. Needs more low and a proper exhaust and tires and then I am sure I would love it just the same as any other Miata.

How many miles does it have? I personally prefer all the other generations than this one lml but it's not a bad car still.

Hahaha
The NC was the compromise, quite modern, yet cheap. I really like the NA, but I have enough cars that need regular care

77.000km ( 44.700 miles)
It's not my favorite MX-5, but a good compromise regarding price and age

Shit that's low. I assume you bought it under $10k? That's really good and considering that even though it's not my favorite Miata, that it's a really good car still, and that especially with low miles at a good price is a great deal.

I don’t get all the NC hate, and I have had an NA for almost 15 years. They’re both fun and drive great, the main difference with an NA is it’s a lot closer to the experience of a 60s/70s MGB or Triumph.
But for a daily
NC is hands down way more practical and safe.

I just dont like the look of the stock NC. Its just too big. People have done nice things with mods on them though so thats why I can still appreciate it. An NA completely stock is excellent to me. The NB suffers from the same height issue as the NC but the mods there fix my gripes as well. But yeah I am glad to not daily a Miata right now, my Subaru is far better at that task.

They do tower over the NAs, and are a bit more cramped inside as well, but they don’t give up much of the driving fun.
Driving around in my NA now feels like being on a motorcycle - no one sees you. So if I were dailying a Miata
, the NC would make a ton of sense.
Plus they are cheeeeeeeeeep given age and mileage
. It’s a great entry level option for someone that’s not comfortable with dealing with what is now, at a minimum, a 21 year old car.
